How Duffy the donkey helped in the war

John Simpson Kirkpatrick was a stretcher bearer with the 3rd Australian Field Ambulance brigade in the battle of Gallipoli, his donkey Duffy helped transport the injured back to the camp, first John Simpson Kirkpatrick would put the injured soldiers on Duffy's back then they would go back to the camp were the nurses were waiting. I have drawn a picture of Duffy and John Simpson Kirkpatrick with a very injured soldier on Duffys back.

  2. I love this drawing Kaelyn - I always get very sad when I think about the poor animals who were involved in the war...they were so brave! You did a great job of describing what Duffy did as well.
